Product Review: BaBylissPRO Nano Titanium 1″ Ultra Flat Iron

The Florida humidity can play havoc on your hair – especially if you have naturally curly hair. Everything looks great in the bathroom mirror but then you walk out the door and poof! I am one of those folks with naturally curly (more like wavy) hair. So, for a couple of years, I have used a flat iron to help straighten it out and keep it from getting too frizzy. This has worked pretty well. I purchased my first flat iron at the local drugstore for about $35. It worked well. However, I’ve always wondered how much better one of the more expensive flat irons would do. I finally decided to bite the bullet and invest in a more expense flat iron. I did a lot of research online (as I do for everything!). I didn’t want to go crazy and purchase one of the really expensive one – there are some that are $200+. After reviewing several websites and product rankings, I decide to try the BaBylissPRO Nano Titanium 1″ Ultra Thin Flat Iron. I picked this one for several reasons: 1) It was reasonably priced at $139; 2) It was touted as providing a lasting smoothness – not going from flat to frizz as soon as I step out the door; 3) It gently straightens without damaging hair. I was able to find it at Ulta and even saved $3.50 (coupon can be found in their flyer and in the RetailMeNot app).

So, was it worth the money? Yes! I noticed a difference the moment I used it. It made my hair so smooth and straight. The BaByliss flat iron is so much lighter and thinner than the one I previous used. My favorite feature of the BaByliss flat iron? My hair stays straight longer – and I don’t mean just throughout the day, I mean for days. I don’t wash my hair daily (I’ll write a post one day on the benefits of not washing hair daily). With my old flat iron, my hair would look good the first day but start to get frizzy the day after. Straightening it again didn’t really help. However, with the BaByliss, my hair still looks good the next day and running the flat iron through a couple of sections makes it look as good as new. The only negative about this product is that it does not have auto-shut off – which is a feature I always look for just to be on the safe side.

Take a look at my photo below to see the results. My hair on the left side of the photo is without the flat iron (washed and blow-dried). My hair on the right side of the photo is after I used the BaByliss flat iron.

Left side – without flat iron; Right side – with flat iron.

I highly recommend investing in a good flat iron if you are trying to get a soft, sleek look – without damaging your hair too much. For me, the BaBylissPRO Nano Titanium 1″ Ultra Flat Iron does a great job and is well worth the cost. You can find it at Ulta or or on

Until next time, stay beautiful! ~ Devon
