Here’s a list of the products currently in my “beauty bag” (aka the products I wear everyday)
Foundation: Estee Lauder Double Wear – Tawny
What I love about it: I have used this make-up for many years. I have tried other foundations but always go back to Double Wear. The foundation provides good coverage but can be used as light coverage if applied correctly. It also contains an SPF. However, the thing I love most about it is that it holds up spectacular in the humid Florida weather. I apply it in the early morning hours and it still appears flawless late into the evening. At almost $40 a bottle, it is one of my most expensive make-up products. However, it does last a long time and I only have to purchase it 2-3 times per year.
Concealer: Tarte Maracuja Creaseless Concealer – Lightt
What I love about it: It covers very well and stays in place. I’m still searching for the “perfect” under eye concealer but this one is pretty good.
Powder: Coty Airspun Loose Powder – Translucent
What I love about it: This powder does a great job of setting my foundation and providing a shine free look throughout the day – and it’s only $6! Can’t beat that!
Bronzer: NYC Smooth Skin Bronzing Face Powder
What I love about it: When I do decide to add a little blush to the apples of my cheeks, I use MAC. It goes on nicely and stays on throughout the day.
Eye Shadow Primer: Urban Decay Potion – Sin
What I love about it: If someone asked me what one makeup product I would want if stranded on a deserted island, this would probably be it. I absolutely love this product. It not only serves as a great eyeshadow base but also a great eyeshadow base color. You could use a 99 cent drugstore eyeshadow and it would look good with this primer. Don’t let the cost fool you. Although it seems expensive ($20) but one tube last me an entire year – and I wear it almost daily.
Eye Shadow: Sephora Eyeshadow Mirror – Pop Idol
What I love about it: I have lots of different eyeshadow in my makeup bag but I keep coming back to this one. I like the purple tint it has to it (great for my blue eyes) and it contrasts well with the Urban Decay Potion (see above). Sephora’s eyeshadows are relatively inexpensive and have good staying power and color pigmentation. You can also purchase a eyeshadow compact allowing you to mix and match a combination of eyeshadows – great if you like to use several colors to highlight and contrast.
Eye Liner: Revlon Colorstay Liquid Eye Pen – Blackest Black
What I love about it: I use this eyeliner on the top of my lid only. It glides on easy and has great staying power. It’s also rather inexpensive compared to some of brands I have tried that provide similar results.
Eye Liner: Sephora Retractable Waterproof Eyeliner – Slate
What I love about it: I use this eyeliner on my lower lash line only. This color, Slate, has a blue tone to it. I prefer that over black as it provides a softer look. This eyeliner goes on very well and has great staying power. I very seldom find myself dealing with raccoon eyes even after a long day at the office or even after a very long day at Disney!
Mascara: Maybelline Great Lash – Black
What I love about it: Great Lash is an oldie but a goodie! I’ve tried lots of different mascaras. Great Lash isn’t necessarily the best one that I have tried but for the price, you can’t beat it.
Lip Liner: Revlon Colorstay – Chocolate
What I love about it: This lipliner goes on easy and stays on all day long. Combined with the lipstick I use, I seldom need to re-touch my lipstick.
What I love about it: This lipstick stays on forever! In my job, I do a lot of talking. I also attend many community events which includes talking, eating and drinking. I never have to worry about my lipstick wearing off. I have many different colors in my makeup bag.
